All of the decks we build except for treated pine get a single picture frame border. The border acts as a drip edge for the deck & covers the framing / fascia gap. This is a nice design feature, but it is mainly for function, to prevent oil canning & debris build up in the framing / fascia gap .

We also always do a two tiered fascia detail on every deck except for treated decks

All of the decks we build come standard with deckorators 3/4 round black aluminum balusters.

We also always use post skirts around the bottom of railing posts to hid the cut out. There is optional post caps or a deck board top cap rail

All of the decks we build that are attached to the house will be flashed, which should be standard practice but many builders do not flash the ledger board. We also use only screws on the complete deck from the frame to the decking and railings

We always design our decks to avoid butt seams, because that is where you get the most expansion and contraction of a deck board (end to end) It does not take long for butt seams to look terrible. So we will use a center seam board or run the decking on a angle to avoid butt seams
